Majorana Falicov-Kimball Models - a newfamily of exactly solvable models

Professor Ng TaiKai is internationally recognised for his distinguished contribution to the understanding of Strongly-Correlated Condensed Matter Physics system. He is a fellow of the American Physical Society and a Croucher Foundation Seniorresearch fellow (Hong Kong). However his interest is considerably broader. From 2014-2020, he has been the Executive Director of the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE), under the Hong Kong Government (Education Bureau).The Academy is directed at the needs of gifted students with the aim to enablethe students to realise their potential in both academic and non-academicdomains. He has now returned to HKUST as a Chair Professor. Besideshis university duties, he is now the Chairman of the Committee on STEM Education, Curriculum Development Council - the committee is responsible for designing and overseeing the development of STEM education in Hong Kong.
在本次报告中，Prof. Ng Tai Kai （吴大琪） 将介绍一系列在任意维度都是完全可解的BCS-Hubbard类模型。在其最简单的形式下，该模型描述了一个p波BCS超导体，其中，相同自旋对在具有on-siteHubbard 相互作用U的二分（立方、正方形等）晶格上移动。当BCS配对振幅∆等于跃迁振幅t时，该模型在任意U都是完全可解的。报告将讨论这些模型的一般特性。
Prof. Ng Tai Kai will introduce in this talk a family of exactly solvable BCS-Hubbardtype model in arbitrary dimensions. In its simplest form, the model describes ap-wave BCS superconductor with equal spin pairing moving on a bipartite (cubic,square, etc.) lattice with on-site Hubbard interaction U. The model becomesexactly solvable for arbitrary U when the BCS pairing amplitude Δ equals thehopping amplitude t. The general properties of these models will be discussed.
